Adult ADHD Coaching in Sydney

What happens in ADHD Coaching

ADHD Coaching helps you to understand what’s happening in your life now, what you want next and how to get there. It’s about reducing friction, designing workable systems and feeling better about yourself in the process.

ADHD Coaching isn’t therapy or productivity hacks. In coaching, we slow things down first. Then we think more clearly about what’s going on and work out changes that are realistic for your executive function and that move you towards what you value.

Getting started

We begin with a free 20 minute intro call. This is a chance for us to talk things through and see whether ADHD Coaching feels like the right fit and if I feel like the right coach for you.

If you decide to begin coaching, we use the first session for intake and planning to guide the rest of our work.

We take time to explore:

  • what matters most to you right now

  • what’s been getting in the way

  • what you’d like to feel different by the end of the coaching process.

Many people don’t arrive with a clear goal, only a feeling that something needs to change. You don’t have to have it figured out first. We can work it out together.

How coaching sessions work

Coaching sessions take place over Zoom and follow a flexible structure that adapts to your capacity, energy, and real-life demands.

In sessions we:

  • discuss your goal for the session and untangle competing priorities

  • spend some time working out what this means for you

  • notice patterns that keep repeating

  • work out a plan to move from intention to action with manageable steps

  • pay attention to what will support or undermine your follow-through.

The two levels of ADHD Coaching

       Practical support

This involves examining and understanding what’s not working and creating systems to make everyday life feel more manageable and reduce overwhelm.

It usually covers executive function challenges like organising, prioritising, getting started, maintaining and switching focus, motivation, underfunctioning or overfunctioning, emotional regulation, regulating behaviour, working memory issues, and habit building.

       Understanding and rewriting your stories

Alongside this, we notice your long-held patterns and soften the self-criticism that often comes with them. Many people find that as practical change becomes easier, self-trust and compassion grow as well.
